1. BGS
Uluwatu & Canggu
BGS combines their love for surf and coffee into a place that offers the best of both. Their shops all provide a great atmosphere where you can trade surf tales with regulars and their small shop onsite is always filled with the finest surf apparel. Their coffee however is the hero of the shop . They unfortunately do not have a food menu however they have a range of treats to accompany your coffee.
2. Tarabelle
Uluwatu
If you’re after some amazing food at a reasonable price then Tarabelle is a great spot. Located between Jimbaran and Uluwatu it is a popular restaurant all day however due to the size of the cafe you’ll never be waiting long for a seat. Their breakfast menu is full of delicious food and they also have freshly made donuts to end your brunch on a sweet note. The coffee is also great and was one of the cheaper coffees that we had while we in Bali.
3. Touche
Pererenan
Touche is a beautifully decorated but very small cafe, so I would recommend booking if you know when you want to visit. This cafe is definitely an Instagram cafe which can go either way for a cafe in terms of how good it is vs how good it looks. Touche is a beautiful looking cafe however we don’t rate the food for the price of it. However the coffee was possibly the best coffee that we had on our trip.
4. Chela
Uluwatu
This is the pace that you think of when you are thinking of cafes in Bali. Nestled away in the quiet streets of Uluwatu the calm of the area has made its way into Chela. Made out of a giant Bambu structure and located next to a yoga studio and coworking space it is a beautiful cafe to while away the hours. The coffee and the breakfast is amazing as well as the service. Be aware though that they do not allow laptops at the cafe however you can use the nearby coworking space if necessary.
5. Copenhagen
Canggu
One of Canggu’s newer cafes on the scene is Copenhagen. This busy little cafe is located just back from Echo Beach. It has a great priced menu for brunch as well as fantastic coffee. Be prepared to wait for a table as it can get very busy at popular times however they give you the menu while you wait for your order to be ready as soon as you’re seated.
6. Mimpi Grocery
Canggu
Tucked away in a quiet location over looking some beautiful rice fields is Mimpi Grocery. We are so sad that we found this place on the last day as the brunch menu is very different and has extensive plant based options. Their brunch menu focuses on health conscious food with numerous plant-based options which are clearly labelled on the menu. The
The whole cafe is centred around it surf vibes with the beautiful rice fields the focal point of the cafe. The love and creativity of the cafe is instantly felt with the unique artwork from the owner which is displayed around the cafe.
Dinner at Mimpi Grocery is mostly sharing plates and burger options. They also have several plant-based dessert options including home-made cheesecake.
If it’s a warm day you can also rent a towel and head for a swim in their pool located at the café.
