10 Best Places to eat & drink in Warsaw

Restauracja Zapiecek

Restauracja Zapiecek offers traditional polish cuisine in several locations around Warsaw. Though the restaurant has several stores it is more of a boutique chain.

It is well known for it pierogi having an extensive list of filling options including several vegetarian options. They also have a great selection of authentic and hearty soups which are great after a long day of exploring the city. Zapiecek also have a great range of compotes and after dinner drinks including teas which are a must try while in Poland.

Specjały Regionalne

Located in Nowy Swiat area, Specjały Regionalne has a strong focus on organic farming and locally sourced ingredients. Starting out as a produce store, they have eight shops across Warsaw which show their commitment to quality and sustainability in their ingredients.

The restaurant has several traditional delights including Golabki and Pierogi. Make sure not to fill up on dinner as they have a large range of traditional desserts accompanied by their Honey Mead makes for a delightful post-dinner experience.

Na Bank Specialty Coffee

Na Bank Specialty Coffee is a positive and inviting space for caffeine enthusiasts. They serve specialty coffee, the best we had in Warsaw, in a well designed cafe that has plenty of spaces for those wanting to spend some time working, or a cozy corner to read your book.

They have a great brunch menu is full of several different options. Our favourite was the goats cheese on toast with red onion jam. As this is a popular cafe this venue can get very busy over the weekend so be prepared to be able to wait to grab a table or opt to take away.

STOR

STOR has two coffee shops across Warsaw, both shops are small and cozy and serve well crafted coffee. As the cafes are very small they don’t have a menu for food however serve coffee, pastry lots of sweet treats. Stor is open until from 8:30 am until 9pm making it the perfect place for a late-night beverages in the heart of Warsaw.

Half Bar and Kitchen

This newly opened restaurant and bar oozes cosy speak-easy vibes with great view over Old Town. This eclectically decorated venue offers an intimate setting in the small space. For larger groups make sure to book ahead or be prepared to stand or share a space.

The venue offers a small cocktail list however can ask for a personalised cocktail and trust in the mixologist to create something to your liking. They also offer a small selection of tapas style food which we didn’t not try however it looked delicious and all reasonably priced.

Pyzy flaki

Pyzy Flaki has two locations, one on the outskirts of Old Town and the other in the vibrant district of Praga. This spot is ideal for a quick lunch break while your are wandering through old town. They serve small traditional pots of food where you can choose the toppings for each dish.

If you aren’t sure what to order you can always go for pierogi with either bacon or onion on the top. If you want to try something not in the jars make sure to also try the potato cakes as these were our favourite dish.

Zbozna

Tucked away this small bakery is the perfect place for those bread enthusiasts. This small store that does freshly made bread such as sourdough, rye loafs and bagels are made fresh daily. They also make a range of ready made sandwiches, which are filled with an array of different daily fillings. If you’re looking for a real treat make sure to try one of their sweet plum pastries which are best eaten while they’re still warm.

Bar Mleczny

Milk bars with canteen style food located all around Poland. Here you order food then take it to sit down on trays. The meals served are very large portions of traditional food however the menu is usually rather small and also does not an English menu so be ready with google translate on standby.

Bar Mleczny is a great place for a quick cheap lunch around Warsaw. As these are relatively cheap and also used by the locals these can get crowded during lunch hours.

Proces Kawki

If you’re exploring the Praga area this cafe is a great spot to start your morning. Proces Kawki makes a range of hot drinks while the seperate bakery has a large selection of sweet treats for you to enjoy alongside your coffee.

The cafe is perfectly set up so that you could spend hours in a small nook reading one of the books scattered around the shop or perhaps you could enjoy a board game which they have inside the cafe. In the summer there is a beautiful garden which has chess boards set up outside for you to enjoy while relaxing with your coffee and cake.

Rausz

Looking for an intimate wine bar for your date night while in Warsaw? This cozy spot is ideal place to enjoy the night together. Rausz is a small but well stocked venue, if you are going on the weekends it is advisable to make a reservation beforehand.

The wine bar has no menu however it has some very experienced staff to ensure a personalised and delightful tasting journey. When you arrive the staff are there to curate a selection wines and allow you to try these based on your preferences. From this you can then choose to order by the glass or bottle.

There is a food menu which has a small range nibbles and snacks to perfectly accompany the wine.
