How to get to Bath?
The best way to reach Bath is by train which takes 1.5 hours from Paddington Station, however it is best to book train tickets to Bath in advance as they do become very expensive if bought on the day. If you’re on a budget, you can also get the bus from London Victoria however this trip will take you around 3 hours. All your bus and train tickets can be booked through Trainline.

Driving to Bath gives you the flexibility to add in a few stops on the outskirts of the city or even to extend your trip to some of the surrounding areas such as Bristol or the Cotswolds. Parking in Bath can also be tricky as the city itself becomes very busy over the weekends. If you are staying in Bath for the weekend I would recommend contacting your accommodation to check the parking situation before hand.

Things to do in Bath?
Bath is the perfect place to spend the day wandering the streets soaking up the beautiful architecture. If you’re looking to gain more knowledge into the city and its architecture why not book a Free Walking Tour. These free tours are run Sunday to Friday – 10.30am and 2.00pm and Saturday – 10.30am only, from their meeting point outside the Roman Baths.
The Roman Baths are one of the most iconic parts of Bath. These baths, dating back to 70 AD, draw a large crowd to the area which is why you will need to pre-book tickets before visiting, especially during peak times. You can also add on an afternoon tea experience in The Pump Room located on site. Note: You can not bathe in the Roman Baths.
If you’re looking for some relaxation time while in Bath then make sure to book into the Thermal Bath Spa. Located in the middle of Bath, it has views that extend right across the city.
If you have a few extra days around the area then we would absolutely recommend to add on a couple of days in Bristol and the Cotswolds.

Once you have made it to Bath, give yourself some time to check in and get familiar with your surroundings before heading to The Raven for one of their hearty pies.

Hopefully you have woken up to a beautifully sunny day in Bath as there are a lot of things outside ready for you to explore. The best way to be able to explore Bath and get your bearings is through a Free Walking Tours. These walking tours go for around 2 hours and include some of the cities best sights.
After the walking tour if you’re after a little caffeine boost make sure to head to Colonna & Small’s. This place served the best coffee on our weekend away and we loved the passion they have for coffee.
Once you have finished your tour you will have time to be able to visit the Roman Baths. We chose not to visit the inside of the baths however soak up the sunshine from the square beside it. If you are planning to go inside then leave yourself around an hour.
When visiting Bath you can also visit Bath Abbey. Tickets and tours can be purchased online or from the Abbey on the day. Make sure to check out their website for opening times as it is a working church.
If you’re wanting to see Bath from another angle why not opt for a Prosecco Boat Trip. This tour allows you to see all of Baths top attractions from the water while relaxing your feet and sipping on a few glasses of Prosecco.

Before leaving Bath make sure to spend your Sunday relaxing at Thermea Bath Spa. The water from the baths come from the towns natural hot springs which are full of minerals. The Spa also has a range of different packages which include massages and other treatments on site.

I visited Bath a few years ago and fell in love with the town. The free walking tour was top notch! Your post makes me think I should go back soon!
