Want to take your partner on a weekend away instead? Here is our guide to the 15 Most Romantic Getaways in the UK

1. Clay Time

Finsbury Park £-£££

Looking to learn a new skill while creating something new for yourself, then check out Clay Time for your next date night. They offer one off classes to create your own pots or if creating something is not for you you can also go for one of the ready made pieces to decorate. If you’re wanting to schedule in a regular date night they also offer longer 5 or 6 week courses for something more intensive.

If getting out to make clay breaks your budget you could also try Sculpd which is air drying clay delivered straight to your door.

2. SUNDAY cafe & restaurant

Barnsbury & Hampstead Heath ££

Are you looking for somewhere for a brunch or lunch date? SUNDAY may just be your answer. Be prepared to queue at popular times however the wait is worth it for the amazing food and intimate seating that drawers the crowds. They also have a second venue in Hampstead which doesn’t have quite the same feel however it is much more spacious and the menu is the same as their original location.

If SUNDAY isn’t for you check out Our London Coffee Guide for more coffee date locations ideas.

3. Rowans

Finsbury Park £

Rowans is a North London institution. I wouldn’t recommend Rowans for the most special occasions however if you’re looking for a really fun place that offers bowling, kareoke, pool tables, arcade and dancing all in the one place then this is the date night for you. Start your night with a game or two of 10-pin bowling and then let the night take you. Be advised that after 7:00pm Rowans becomes an over 21s venue.

4. Sushi Samba

Bishopsgate & Covent Garden ££££

This is possibly our favourite restaurant in London! A Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian fusion restaurant located with one of the best sunset views over London, there really isn’t anything not to like. Sushi Samba is a great date night location if you’re looking to treat yourselves or celebrate a special occasion.

Perhaps you would prefer a more intimate evening by making food together. Why not try one of these London Cooking Classes for your next date night.

5. Gin Tasting at Brewhouse Bar & Kitchen

Highbury & Hoxton ££

Looking for something fun but also educational at the same time? Why not try a Gin Masterclass. For £ 40pp you’re taken through the distilling process then guided through the tasting process for five different types of gins. Once you have finished the tasting you can choose your favourite gin to sip on while enjoying a tasty meal from their mains menu.

There are so many different Gin and food walking tours around London as well. Check out more London Gin date night ideas on Viator.

6. Barbican Conservatory

Explore the hidden tropical oasis that is the Barbican Conservatory. Londons second largest conservatory (behind Kew Gardens) posts around 1500 different species of plants and trees. You can spend most of the day wondering through the tranquil gardens. There is also a cafe located on site for a tasty treat after exploring. Tickets are released a week in advance so make sure to grab them before they go as they can go very fast for weekends.

7. Theatre Show

Soho £ -££

Want to be entertained on your next date night? Why not head to a west end show? Whether your prefer musicals or something a bit funnier there is always something on West End for you. I recommend for date night Matilda, The Lion King (for when you want to wow for date night), The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe or The Play that Goes Wrong. Book through Theatre Tickets Direct to save yourself some cash on Londons top shows. You can also use Theatre Tickets Direct to book a show and pre-show dinner with a selection of resturants nearby which will coordinate times with the show of your choice.

9. BYOC

Camden ££

BYOC in Camden offers a twist to your usual bar night experience. Hidden away on the busy Camden High Road, bring your own favourite bottle of spirits and let the bartenders serve you cocktails suited to your taste. We had about 5 different Vodka based cocktails during our stay, each different from the last and suited personally to you. All this comes to £30-35 per person plus the spirit that you choose to bring.

10. Swingers

Soho & London City ££

Heading out on a first date or looking for a way to bring out both your competitive sides? Swingers is the perfect place for £13.50 per person for a round of crazy golf, it also is the perfect budget option for date night.
